Complaints and Requests

Anyone has the right to request the digital accessibility of a website, mobile application or some element thereof. You may also request that information be made available by an alternative means of access, for example by reading a digitally inaccessible document, describing the content of a film without an audio description, etc. The request should include the details of the person making the request, an indication of which website or mobile application is involved and the means of contact. If the person requesting the information wishes to receive it through an alternative means of access, they should also specify a convenient way for them of presenting the information. The public entity should comply with the request immediately and no later than within 7 days of the request. If it is not possible to comply with this time limit, the public entity shall inform the requesting party without delay when the completion of the request will be possible, but the time limit shall not be longer than 2 months from the date of the request. If digital accessibility is not possible, the public entity may propose an alternative means of accessing the information. Where a public entity refuses to comply with a request to provide accessibility or an alternative means of accessing the information, the requesting party may lodge a complaint about the provision of digital accessibility of a website, mobile application or an element of a website or mobile application.

Once all possibilities have been exhausted, a complaint may also be sent to Commissioner for Human Rights.

Architectural accessibility

Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji w m.st. Warszawie S.A. (Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Company in the Capital City of Warsaw) owns facilities on the territory of Warsaw and the Warsaw agglomeration. Certain facilities feature architectural barriers preventing access by persons with motor disabilities.

Head office at pl. Sokratesa Starynkiewicza 5, 02-015 Warsaw

Due to the prevailing pandemic situation, the Customer Service Department (Dział Obsługi Klienta, DOK) at pl. Starynkiewicza 5 remains closed until further notice.

  1. The Customer Service Department (DOK) is located in this building. The main building entrance is from pl. Sokratesa Starynkiewicza 5.
  2. The entrance is situated on the high ground floor with stairs without ramps. The building is also accessible from the street level with a lift, which is located next to the main entrance.
  3. At the main entrance there is a staff member who can provide information on the layout of the premises.
  4. There is no Braille signage in the building, nor is there any contrast or enlarged print signage for people who are blind and people with a visual impairment.
  5. In front of the building, no parking spaces are available for people with disabilities.
  6. There is a lack of toilets for people with disabilities near the DOK.
  7. The DOK offers the service of a Polish Sign Language interpreter. It is available upon request during the working hours of the DOK: from Monday to Friday from 08:00 am to 03:00 pm. The service is free of charge for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  8. You can enter the building with an assistance dog or guide dog.

ul. Zaruskiego 4, 00-468 Warsaw

  1. The Customer Service Department (DOK) is located in this building. The Customer Service Department is located on the ground floor of Building A.
  2. The main entrance for visitors is from ul. Zaruskiego 4 and is equipped with a ramp for wheelchairs. A further passage is secured with gates which a wheelchair can pass through.
  3. At the main entrance there is a staff member who can provide information on the layout of the premises.
  4. An induction loop is not provided in the building. There is no Braille signage in the building, nor is there any contrast or enlarged print signage for people who are blind and people with a visual impairment.
  5. In front of the building two parking spaces have been designated for people with disabilities.
  6. The DOK offers the service of a Polish Sign Language interpreter. It is available upon request during the working hours of the DOK: from Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 03:00 pm. The service is free of charge for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  7. A toilet for people with disabilities is located on the ground floor, opposite the entrance to the building.
  8. You can enter the building with an assistance dog or guide dog.

Filter Station complex, ul. Koszykowa 81, 02-012 Warsaw

  1. The Filter Station is accessible for visitors with disabilities. The tour includes a visit to the facilities, which have been adapted for people with reduced mobility.
  2. The museum is easily accessible from the ground floor. A lift and a wheelchair lift are installed in the building. The toilet (situated on level –2) is adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.
  3. There is no Braille signage in the buildings, nor is there any contrast or enlarged print signage for people who are blind and people with a visual impairment.
  4. The water tower, located on a hill, can be reached by setting up mobile ramp platforms and the plant sightseeing tour is delineated by pedestrian walkways with wheelchair ramps (kerb reductions).
  5. The Slow Filter Complex building is equipped with a wheelchair ramp, with the slow filter offering a ramp accessible from the pavement level.
  6. In front of the building, it is possible to park for people with disabilities (with prior notification of the need to enter the Filter Station area).
  7. It is not possible to enter the Filter Station premises with an assistance dog or guide dog.
  8. Sign language interpreter is not available.

Mobile applications

Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji w m.st. Warszawie S.A. (Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Company in the Capital City of Warsaw) does not provide mobile applications.
